The New Zealand Geoheat Strategy, hosted by the New Zealand Geothermal Association, is an industry-led initiative seeking  to increase direct geothermal heat use from our nation’s geothermal resources.

The draft strategy has been developed consultatively through 2015 and 2016 with the geothermal industry, heat users, Maori, government (local, regional, central), economic development agencies and others.

The opportunity for comment on the draft document closed at the end of May 2016 and the draft document is now being reviewed ahead of the 2016 Edition release.

The 2016 Edition will be posted on this webpage when it is completed.
