NZGA Submission on Transpower’s Net Zero Grid Pathway Phase 1

To support Aotearoa New Zealand’s pathway towards a low-carbon economy, Transpower sought consultation on its long-list of proposed investments in the electricity transmission grid. Part of this consultation considered the Central North Island and the Wairakei Ring transmission lines, including expansion on geothermal electricity supply.

In early October 2021, as a collaboration between NZGA Board and members, the Association put forward this submission, to provide the geothermal voice to Transpower’s considerations. We look forward with interest to seeing how Transpower moves forward following this consultation period.
